The valve train may also be sealed in a flooded compartment, or open to the crankshaft in a way that it receives splashed oil and allows it to drain back to the sump. Splash lubrication is common for small 4-stroke engines.

In a forced (also called pressurized) lubrication system, lubrication is accomplished in a closed loop which carries motor oil to the surfaces serviced by the system and then returns the oil to a reservoir. The auxiliary equipment of an engine is typically not serviced by this loop; for instance, an alternator may use ball bearings sealed with its lubricant. The reservoir for the oil is usually the sump, and when this is the case, it is called a wet sump system. When there is a different oil reservoir the crankcase still catches it, but it is continuously drained by a dedicated pump; this is called a dry sump system.

Most truck and automotive diesel engines use a cycle reminiscent of a four-stroke cycle, but with a compression heating ignition system, rather than needing a separate ignition system. This variation is called the diesel cycle. In the diesel cycle, diesel fuel is injected directly into the cylinder so that combustion occurs at constant pressure, as the piston moves.

Otto cycle: Otto cycle is the typical cycle for most of the cars internal combustion engines, that work using gasoline as a fuel. Otto cycle is exactly the same one that was described for the four-stroke engine. It consists of the same four major steps: Intake, compression, ignition and exhaust.

Ostatnio moda na modę ma się dobrze. W telewizji, w postaci programów na pograniczu reality show i talent show. Mam tu na myśli Top model i Project Runway. Oczywiście, jak mogłoby być inaczej – przybywa nam samozwańczych ekspertów – od projektowania ciuchów do oceniania predyspozycji modelek (kocham internet, który chyba w języku polskim powinniśmy nazywać ekpertnet). Słupki oglądalności są na wysokim poziomie, może również dlatego że od czasu do czasu jakaś naga pierś ujrzy światło dzienne, a może dlatego że ogólnie moda jest „trendy”, „hot” i diabli wiedzą co jeszcze. Cóż – twórcom raczej nie chodzi o wprowadzenie haute couture pod strzechy, zresztą – to wszystko są licencje zagranicznych formatów, które sprawdziły się już na innych rynkach medialnych. Psy szczekają, karawana jedzie dalej, czy jakoś tak. Czyli nieważne, czy chodzi o propagowanie dobrych gustów(?) wśród ludu, czy o show. Obstawiam jednak, że w tym wypadku – show must go on, bo idą za nim bardzo niezłe wpływy z reklam, Amen.

Każdy z nas chociaż raz doświadczył sytuacji, w której nie miał co na siebie włożyć, mimo, że szafa jest pełna po brzegi. Ekologia w kwestii korzystania z wody

Z wody można korzystać o wiele bardziej ekologicznie, niż robi to każdy z nas. Zmiana pewnych przyzwyczajeń pozwala oszczędzić jej bardzo wiele, więc warto się nad tym zastanowić. When used in agricultural irrigation, the singular form „pipe” is often used as a plural.7

Pipe is available in rigid „joints”, which come in various lengths depending on the material. Tubing, in particular copper, comes in rigid hard tempered „joints” or soft tempered (annealed) rolls. PeX and CPVC tubing also comes in rigid „joints” or flexible rolls. The temper of the copper, that is whether it is a rigid „joint” or flexible roll, does not affect the sizing.7

The thicknesses of the water pipe and tube walls can vary. Pipe wall thickness is denoted by various schedules or for large bore polyethylene pipe in the UK by the Standard Dimension Ratio (SDR), defined as the ratio of the pipe diameter to its wall thickness. Pipe wall thickness increases with schedule, and is available in schedules 20, 40, 80, and higher in special cases. The schedule is largely determined by the operating pressure of the system, with higher pressures commanding greater thickness. Copper tubing is available in four wall thicknesses: type DWV (thinnest wall; only allowed as drain pipe per UPC), type ‚M’ (thin; typically only allowed as drain pipe by IPC code), type ‚L’ (thicker, standard duty for water lines and water service), and type ‚K’ (thickest, typically used underground between the main and the meter). Because piping and tubing are commodities, having a greater wall thickness implies higher initial cost. Thicker walled pipe generally implies greater durability and higher pressure tolerances.

Wall thickness does not affect pipe or tubing size.8 1/2″ L copper has the same outer diameter as 1/2″ K or M copper. The same applies to pipe schedules. As a result, a slight increase in pressure losses is realized due to a decrease in flowpath as wall thickness is increased. In other words, 1 foot of 1/2″ L copper has slightly less volume than 1 foot of 1/2 M copper.citation needed

Autonomous means having the power for self-governance.8 Many historical projects related to vehicle autonomy have in fact only been automated (made to be automatic) due to a heavy reliance on artificial hints in their environment, such as magnetic strips. Autonomous control implies good performance under significant uncertainties in the environment for extended periods of time and the ability to compensate for system failures without external intervention.8 As can be seen from many projects mentioned, it is often suggested to extend the capabilities of an autonomous car by implementing communication networks both in the immediate vicinity (for collision avoidance) and far away (for congestion management). By bringing in these outside influences in the decision process, some would no longer regard the car’s behaviour or capabilities as autonomous; for example Wood et al. (2012) writes „This Article generally uses the term „autonomous,” instead of the term „automated.” The term „autonomous” was chosen because it is the term that is currently in more widespread use (and thus is more familiar to the general public). However, the latter term is arguably more accurate. „Automated” connotes control or operation by a machine, while „autonomous” connotes acting alone or independently. Most of the vehicle concepts (that we are currently aware of) have a person in the driver?s seat, utilize a communication connection to the Cloud or other vehicles, and do not independently select either destinations or routes for reaching them. Thus, the term „automated” would more accurately describe these vehicle concepts”.9

Car – what does it mean?

The word „car” is believed to originate from the Latin word carrus or carrum („wheeled vehicle”), or the Middle English word carre (meaning cart, from Old North French). In turn, these originated from the Gaulish word karros (a Gallic chariot).
